Grade 1 ... Now in 3D!

We've been living life in 3-D! 

These past few days, we have begun examining spheres, cylinders, cubes, and cones!

Check out this hilarious and helpful song we have been humming all week long. Careful, it REALLY gets stuck in your noggin'!



Armed with a camera, the kids hit the halls to find real life examples of spheres, cylinders, cubes, and cones!

3D solids are everywhere!

We have begun our Geometry Unit! This week we have learned that 3D solids are FAT, not flat! 

This song has been stuck in our heads all week:

Students were sent out around the school to find real-life examples of 3D solids. Teams hunted for examples of cones, cubes, cylinders, and spheres, and they certainly didn't come away empty handed!

Grade 1 . . . now available in 3D!

No need for 3-D glasses here! We are into our Geometry Unit in Math and have been having fun identifying, describing, comparing and sorting 3-D solids. 

3-D solids are FAT, not flat. We have been examining the sphere, cone, cylinder and cube, and this song has been helpful (although stuck on our heads all the time!):

We were inspired to hunt for 3-D solids ourselves, so with camera in hand, we set off to explore Holy Redeemer. Children worked in teams to identify objects in our environment that are shaped like spheres, cylinders, cubes and cones.
